Making money from a blog is a lucrative proposition, and AdSense is one of the top choice for bloggers to monetize their blog. Even though Affiliate marketing or CPA marketing pays more than AdSense, but Adsense ads gives a sense of peace of mind, and more over adds into recurring income. If I have to put it in a simple way,AdSense works as a saving account where you will be paid mostly on a fixed interest rate, and affiliate marketing works as a mutual fund investment, where income can fluctuate but always higher than AdSense.
Anyways, this post is not about which one is better, but here I’m answering one of the most asked question to me regarding AdSense. Recently I was giving a Workshop at Hosting summit, and after summit someone asked me about how much money she can make from her image based website or other lucrative and easy to use niche for AdSense. And couple of days back, one of the Shouter Shubhan asked how much money he can earn from AdSense on his blog. Here is the Email from Shubhan:
How much money Shubhan can make from AdSense ?
Let me start with Answering Shubhan first question:
Shubhan your blog is professionally designed, and it looks great. Your content are original and adds value. You are using BlogSpot platform, but that should not be a problem. Since you are using a custom domain, I recommend you to get Custom domain Email address using Outlook, and apply using it. Check out his blog design, which is on BlogSpot and looks so professional.
Coming back to second question ” How much I will earn from AdSense”, which is one of the most frequently asked question by other Shouters. When I was new to AdSense, even I had the same question. I heard so many stories about people making $50/click or making thousands of $ via AdSense every month, I always wondered if I can make the same money from AdSense. To be honest, I never made that amount of money like other AdSense ninjas, and I will explain the reason below.
How you can calculate your future AdSense income:
To disappoint you, there is no easy or sure-shot way to calculate your future AdSense earning, as you can’t predict how much money you will make per click. AdSense income depends on various factors, and here are some of the most common factors which adds into more AdSense earning.
Topic of your Blog:
Lets start with the basics of AdSense. Google AdSense works on the basis of AdWords, where Advertisers bids on Keywords, and thus Ads are displayed on 3rd party Websites like yours and mine using AdSense. Now, with time Advertisers are becoming smarter, and they bid more on long-tail Keywords, as this converts better. Along with this, there is a concept of high-paying and low-paying niches.
For ex: Niche like health, Loan, Attorney have high CPC (Cost per click), and other niche like (Movies, posters) are considered as low paying niche. Technology niche on other hand is quite moderate AdSense niche, and income per click depends on various factors, which I have mentioned below.
Your traffic demographic:
AdSense income also depends upon the country which is sending you more traffic. For example, if your blog is getting more traffic from countries like U.S.A., you are more likely to earn more from per click on your AdSense ads. Where as if you are getting more traffic from developing nation like India, Nepal, you are likely to earn less/click (Mostly in pennies), and this difference is due to difference in average purchasing power of these nations.
Other common factors:
Above two are the most influential factor for AdSense earning. After this other factors like your Ad placement, ad blending, type of Ads (Image or Text or both), also adds a lot into it. These factors can easily be optimized by strategically implementing AdSense ads on your blog (Above the fold, and blend it smartly), and for other factors, you need to work on before you launch your blog.
Well, many of us create Blog just to earn from AdSense (Nothing wrong with it), but people usually give up on it soon, as this doesn’t keep them glued for long. More over, without complete domain knowledge, quality of site goes down with time, and it doesn’t work on long run. In my recent guide on How I created AdSense blog with less effort, I explained how to create quality AdSense blog. (A strategy that you can easily copy).
So next time if you have doubt related to how much you can earn from AdSense ads, ask yourself what niche and what kind of traffic you are going to get on your blog. None the less, check out this guide on finding high CPC AdSense keyword in most convenient way.
